A 28-year-old Thunder Bay woman is facing charges of impaired driving and trying to elude police.
The local force tells us they learned of a speeding vehicle driven erratically on Fort William Road early Friday afternoon.
The red SUV was seen at Harbour Expressway and Memorial Avenue, but fled after police tried to pull it over. They chose not to pursue out of public safety.
Police say they eventually found the driver and vehicle in a parking lot on Hector Dougall Way, and charged her with a having a blood alcohol level three times the legal limit.
She was released on conditions with a future court date.
