Shelter House Responds To Positive COVID-19 Case

Officials with Shelter House are working to enhance safety measures after a positive COVID-19 case.

In a release Thursday, staff and clients were exposed last week which has forced those at the south side shelter to work alongside the Thunder Bay District Health Unit and make testing more available, provide access to isolation spaces and ensuring all public health guidelines are followed.

“The Staff at Shelter House are working hard, they are committed to safety for our clients and for their families, we will continue to work with our partners to provide opportunities for safe shelter within our facility and through the shelter care system in Thunder Bay,” Executive Director Michelle Jordan said in a release.

The George street facility is now in a static bed list situation and is working actively with all other shelters to provide access to shelter in the case that a bed is not available at the time of arrival.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
