OPP Arrest Suspect In Infant Drowning

The death of a two-year-old child in northwestern Ontario has resulted in an arrest.

OPP report the child died in August of last year in Pikangikum from what was thought to be a possible drowning.

After an investigation police say 25-year-old Helen Fiddler of Pikangikum has been charged with criminal negligence causing death, abandoning a child, and failing to provide the necessities of life.

She has a court date set for February 24th.
