Reprieve From Cold Expected Saturday

Looks like we shouldn’t be complaining too much when it comes to this typical Thunder Bay winter.

Environment Canada’s Ryan Rozinskis points out this air mass hanging over northwestern Ontario and into Manitoba could be worse for this city. “Thunder Bay has been actually spared from the coldest of this air mass, due to some cloud that’s been lingering over the area.”

The meteorologist points out the cloud traps heat released by the earth.

However, we’ll need to endure it for just a little bit longer. Rozinskis points out even though Wednesday is expected to be the coldest yet with an overnight windchill of -38, warmer air is coming.

“Looking at a slight rebound Thursday night, getting into near -20 at the low. This cooler pattern doesn’t really break until we get into Saturday,” says the meteorologist.

In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
