Don’t Expect To Get Vaccinated Right Away

Healthier people will need to have patience when it comes to receiving a COVID-19 vaccine.

Health Minister Patty Hajdu told Acadia Broadcasting with about 6,000,000 doses expected for the first quarter of 2021, it could be as late as May before most people get the shot.

People in long-term care homes and frontline workers are going to be the first in line for the vaccine.

Even though the vaccine is on its way, the health minister is continuing her warning not to let your guard down.

Hajdu says if not for yourself then to help prevent our hospitals from getting overwhelmed and not being able to carry out surgeries or other necessary treatments.

“That could include things like cancer treatments (and) people being delayed for really important treatments they need for their own health,” noted the minister.
