The Salvation Army reports someone stole about $300 to $500 from one of their Christmas kettles.
They tell us it happened on Friday when someone grabbed one of the kettle stands, money and all, and ran off with it.
Officials add while they have done what was possible to reduce the risk of thefts, the thief managed to take the funds.
No one was injured in the incident.
With 2 weeks left in the campaign, about $102,500 is needed to reach their goal of $220,000.

Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
