District Likely To Move To Orange Alert

An official announcement is expected this afternoon from the Ford government on the Thunder Bay district moving to Orange in the COVID-19 framework.

There are some subtle but distinct changes in the restrictions for the Orange level.

For bars and restaurants, it means reducing the number of people that can sit at a table from six to four, and if alcohol is served those establishments must close at 10 pm.

In the Orange level alcohol can only be served until 9 pm.

One notable change for stores, bars, restaurants, hair salons, gyms, and theatres is that customers must be screened for COVID-19 symptoms.

Here’s what does not change…the limits for private functions will remain at 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors and public events are to remain at 50 indoors and 100 outdoors.
