Arena Closure Affects Kings Hockey Teams

The Thunder Bay Kings hockey teams are without a home arena for the while.

President Michael Power tells us as a result of the temporary closure of the Fort William First Nations Arena because of COVID-19, the teams have to practice and play games in other facilities.

Those teams are the U-13, U-15, U-16, and U-18.

“Our teams have realigned and are moving to practice for the next two weeks in city-run facilities for example Delaney Arena,” explains Power.

The Kings’ president appreciates the focus is on the health and well-being of the Fort William First Nation and the teams which use the arena.

It is expected the situation will be reviewed a week from this Friday.
