The United Way is inviting you to show your love for the community and help them make up some of its $300,000 funding shortfall for this year.
CEO Albert Brulé launched Show Your Local Love Day on Giving Tuesday, with the goal of raising $10,000 for the organizations they support.
Mayor Bill Mauro declared December 1st the first-ever Show Your Local Love Day.
He adds Tbaytel is lending a helping hand by matching all donations up to the $10,000 mark. The money goes toward their RECOVER2020 campaign, supporting organizations that help people hardest hit by the pandemic.
“If you didn’t participate in a luncheon or a breakfast, or our plane pull event that we couldn’t hold this year, you can take that donation and give it online as part of Show Your Local Love,” he says.
Tbaytel President Dan Topatigh explains their pledge also kicks off their 12 Days of Christmas campaign.
“They’ve really been a pillar in this community for so long. We realize the events of the pandemic are going to be very challenging across the board, particularly for raising funds, and without question we want to be there to support them,” Topatigh says.
“Our 12 Days of Christmas campaign is all about random acts of kindness, giving back and celebrating the season. We look forward to surprising more community members and organizations in the days ahead,” he explains.
