OPP Urge ATV Safety

With more ATVs and other off-road vehicles out at this time of year, OPP in the region are reminding you to stay safe.

The OPP are hoping to cut down on the rising number of ATV accidents. They note that alcohol continues to be a factor in many fatal off roading vehicle accidents.

Provincial Police remind drivers that operating an ATV while impaired, whether on or off the road, carries the same penalties as impaired driving.

They also want you to wear an approved motorcycle helmet at all times, have valid insurance and registration when off of private property, and to drive in the same direction of traffic on the shoulder of a public road.
