Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland will provide the update, which will be her first in the portfolio since taking over for Bill Moreau in August.
The statement, which was first promised in the September Throne Speech, will include an update on the cost of COVID-19 aid.
There’s no word on how detailed the report will be, it won’t be a full budget. The government has previously indicated that will come sometime in 2021.
The last fiscal update in July forecasted a $342.2 billion budget deficit for 2020, up from the pre-pandemic economic update issued in December 2019, which pegged the deficit at $28.1 billon.
