COVID-19 Among Local Pickleball Players

COVID-19 is being found among pickleball players in Thunder Bay.

The local health unit says three people have diagnosed positive, and is implicating the Moose Hall on Fort William Road, and the Polish Legion on Cumberland Street.

However, it also says there is reason to believe the virus could have spread to the North McIntyre Rec Centre on Government Road, and the West Thunder Community Centre on Edward Street South.

The health unit is asking anyone who played at these four places from November 3rd to the 13th to self-isolate at home, and anyone who was at these locations during that time, for whatever purpose, is at high risk.

Also, there are more people who played pickleball at these locations who are getting tested.

The Thunder Bay Health Unit adds it would like to speak to those who are staying at home in isolation, unless you have already have.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
