Two COVID Cases At St. Margaret School

The Catholic District School Board is reporting two cases of COVID-19 at a north side elementary school.

The board says they were notified about the first case at St. Margaret school by the Thunder Bay District Health Unit on Friday night.

Then Saturday afternoon they were informed of a second case within the same school.

The board stresses “At this time there is no evidence of school related spread of the virus. These cases were acquired outside of the school setting.”

A note to parents from the Thunder Bay District Health Unit tries to assure parents “This is not an outbreak.”

Officials say there is contact tracing taking place and anyone who is deemed to have been in close contact with these individuals “will be isolating at home.”
