Millions Set Aside For Remote Broadband And Cellular

The Ford government is taking steps to get more people connected to the Internet.

Treasury Board President Peter Bethlenfalvy has announced $680-million in additional funding for broadband and cellular expansion for remote northern areas of the province.

“We’re committed to building a government that puts the people at the centre of everything we do because we cannot afford to be an offline government in an online world,” explains Bethlenfalvy.

Minister of Infrastructure Laurie Scott adds they are now hoping the federal government comes on board with matching funding because as she puts it “When more money is applied more people at the table are able to roll out more projects faster.”
