Le Chateau Workers To Lose Their Jobs

Very disheartening news for workers of the Le Chateau store at the Intercity Shopping Centre.

The Montreal based company says it is closing all 123 stores across Canada, as the company seeks court protection from creditors and is liquidating its assets. It’ll be seeking protection in a Quebec court Friday.

This means 1,400 employees nationally are losing their jobs, and 500 at head office. They will keep their jobs during the liquidation process.

The company is blaming, in large part, COVID-19.
