Former Thunder Bay Mayor Keith Hobbs and his wife Marisa have launched a lawsuit.
A statement of claim filed with the Ontario Superior Court of Justice names over a dozen defendants including the Thunder Bay Police Services Board along with several officers working for the Thunder Bay Police Force, the OPP and the RCMP.
Hobbs and his wife were found not guilty earlier this year on a charge of extortion.
Following the trial their lawyer, Brian Greenspan said, “There was a great deal of press and attention paid to those allegations that harmed them in many ways in the public and community and those allegations have been demonstrated to not be truthful or accurate.”
