Officials giving word that demolition is set to go Monday morning at the old Salvation Army building on Cumberland Street.

The work was delayed last week due to unexpected preparatory work.

Once the building is removed, the parking lot will be installed.

The final landscaping will be completed in the spring including the Field of Greens garden and recreational area.

HISTORY

The building was erected in the early 1960’s and was originally the Northland Hotel. The property was transferred to The Salvation Army and a shelter was opened here in 1971.
