Update: Multiple People Charged In Drug Raids

Update 4:30pm, Thursday:

A busy Wednesday afternoon for Thunder Bay police in rooting out the drug problem in the city.

They tell us they used a search warrant on a house on Cornwall Street in the north end, after intelligence identified it for suspected drug activity.

Police say they found four people inside, three of them, men, who were arrested without any problem. Suspected crack cocaine, fentanyl, money and drug paraphernalia was found.

A 45-year-old from Thunder Bay, 20-year-old from Kitchener, and 21-year-old from Ajax, all face charges including drug trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and, the one from Ajax, is also slapped with two counts of breach of probation.

All three appeared in bail court, but remain in custody with future court dates.

At around the same time, not far from there, police used a search warrant to enter a Machar Avenue house.

Police say they found five people they were looking for, as well as suspected fentanyl.

Three men from Toronto, ages 18 to 24, as well as a Thunder Bay man and woman, both 38-years-old, appeared in bail court, but remain in custody with future court dates.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
