If you have travelled outside northern Ontario, from Parry Sound to Manitoba, or anywhere else in Canada, or globally, you will not be allowed into any St. Joseph’s Care Group sites.
Its President and CEO Tracy Buckler says with the rising number of COVID-19 cases provincially, taking action now helps prevent the spread of the disease, and keep their clients and staff safe.
The ban takes effect Wednesday, and applies to anyone who wishes, for whatever reason, to enter any St. Joseph’s site within seven days of being outside northern Ontario.
The Care Group will, however, offer virtual visits, or televisits, should an in-person visit not be possible.
The Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation began a similar restriction Tuesday, with both organizations adding they take directives from the provincial government and public health unit.
