Top Floors Of Courthouse Damaged After Fire

Update 5am, Monday:

Thunder Bay’s Courthouse is closed for Monday, after a weekend fire on the top floor.

City police tell us any business will be done via video for the time being, while investigators look into the fire that started in an electrical vault Sunday afternoon.

Confirmation from Thunder Bay Fire and Rescue the fire on the 7th floor has left the top three floors with water damage.

Platoon Chief Phillip Dzuba tells us they were called to the area around 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon.

There were no injuries.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
