Regional Hospital Overwhelmed With Testing

A surge of those seeking a COVID-19 test has overwhelmed Thunder Bay’s Regional Health Sciences Centre.

It says there is a backlog, but is asking for those wanting a test to be patient, as some technical issues have come up.

The hospital adds this is a problem across the country, while here at home, if you need a test, call 935-8100 to book one.

Officials say same day, or next day testing is available, depending on severity of symptoms.

The wait time can be ten days, with plans underway to address the problem.
