Local Man Charged Following Assault

An assault in the south end has resulted in the arrest of a Thunder Bay man, but also another for firearm offenses.

Police say they were called to the Bethune and McKenzie Street area just after 10 o’clock, Thursday night, to find a man suffering from serious but non-life threatening stab wounds.

Police soon arrested a 29-year-old suspect in a nearby home, adding they had no trouble with the arrest.

While there, a prohibited gun was found, with ammunition, and a 52-year-old man was charged with firearms offenses.

Both appeared in court, and remain in custody.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
