Lucy and Ethel, Felix and Oscar, Scooby and Shaggy, Michael and Dwight, Theo and Cockroach, Norm and Cliff, and Bert and Ernie. Those are just a handful of the many dynamic duos who have graced our TV screens over the years. And one classic pair is getting back together for a new show!
It’s once again Tool Time as Tim Allen and Richard Karn, aka Tim “The Toolman” Taylor and Al Borland get set to fix things up again! The Home Improvement stars are working on an unscripted series for the History channel, called Assembly Required. It’s a competition series that will awaken the inner builder in people, competing to breath new life into everyday household items. Tim and Richard will look at the history of the items and celebrate the people who made them.
Allen says: “Let’s face it, we’re living in a throwaway society. We buy, break, replace… rinse and repeat. Whatever happened to repair and rebuild?! There are some people who unfriend, unfollow and dispose of anything that offends, annoys or breaks – so I’ve created a show to remind people of the satisfaction and pride that comes from rebuilding something on their own. And who better to join me than my buddy from the old Tool Time days – Richard Karn! Now we’re talking More Power! Albert Einstein once said, ‘I’m not a genius, I’m just passionately curious.’ Well, let’s get curious! Even a chimpanzee would at least show interest, right? Wait – I think I just came up with another idea for the show! R-R-R!”
You can expect Assembly Required to hit your TV sometime next year! If Karn doesn’t show up with a beard and in plaid, I’m out! Also, I wouldn’t be opposed to Heidi being along for the ride as well!
