Man Charged After Pizza Driver Robbed

A 21-year old Thunder Bay man is facing charges after an armed robbery.

Police say it was just after 1 o’clock, Monday morning, when a pizza delivery driver was making a drop in the 1000 block of Donald Street east.

A man who claimed to have made the order met the driver at his vehicle, and asked for help carrying the pizza. Police add when the driver asked for payment, the accused demanded money and the food, using a suspected gun.

The victim fled, called 911, and the accused also ran.

On Tuesday afternoon, police arrested the accused in the Hill and Dawson Street area. Police say he remains in custody with a court date of September 1st, also charged with breach of probation.

  • Originally from southern Ontario, Jason found his way here and fell in love with the community and music scene of Thunder Bay over twenty years ago. In between various stints on radio, television and writing, Jason is a dad, a partner and (some would consider) a zoo keeper (seriously, he has a LOT of pets).
