A dramatic demonstration of what the Conservatives say Justin Trudeau has done to cover government corruption.
Finance critic Pierre Poiliovre accused the Prime Minister of blacking out documents relating to the WE scandal, so investigators cannot do their work. “This page, blacked out… this page, blacked out… why don’t we ask what’s in those pages in a parliamentary committee? Well, I’ll tell you why. Justin Trudeau shut down those parliamentary committees.”
The Opposition says the Prime Minister is proroguing Parliament to hide, with MP Michael Barrett questioning claims investigators will see documents.
“Today we were to get those documents. Members of the committee will not, now that the Prime Minister has locked the doors and locked those documents away,”
The Prime Minister maintains temporarily shutting down Parliament is needed to prepare a new Throne Speech and set a new direction, beginning September 23rd.
