Transparent Public Restrooms!?

File this one under: Just When You Think You’ve Seen it All!

Tokyo now has transparent public restrooms in a couple of parks. There’s a catch though … The walls change from see-through to not, when the door is locked.

The reason for the peekaboo potties? So people can check out the cleanliness without having to go in, and you can tell if somebody is using them without having to go in.

The germaphobe in me appreciates the fact that you don’t have to go into these toilets to find out they’re gross, but the realist in me knows some people are going to forget to lock that door and it’s going to be even grosser!
