A grant from the provincial government will mean improvements to Chippewa Park.
Friends of Chippewa Park Project Manager Iain Angus tells us it will provide eight people with the tools to give the park a major facelift.
“Certainly they’ll be a big boon to help the two committees, the 100th-anniversary committee as well as the carousel committee in reaching their various goals,” notes Angus.
The Friends of Chippewa Park official points out the improvements will help in planning the park’s 100th anniversary next year.
Those projects include the removal of the beach retaining wall, restoration of the exteriors of the park’s log buildings, refinishing hardwood floors, planting trees, and a range of other assignments.
He adds the $58,000 will provide the equipment the group needs to get the jobs done while they either collect Employment Insurance or provincial funding.
