Canada Revenue Website Opens Soon

The federal government is adding to the amount of security features it has on the Canada Revenue website.

It’s doing this after hackers broke into the site on the weekend, and accessed over 5,500 accounts, hijacking usernames and passwords. Some Canadians were told they had benefits coming, some to receive benefits for the pandemic, when many people didn’t even apply.

The sites, which include “My Account” and “My Service Canada”, are expected to be usable again by Wednesday.

It is advised you change your username and password often to stop criminals from breaching your account.
