Hunters Fined $10,000

Two men from Hearst have learned the hard way about unsafe hunting.

They were fined a total of $10,000 and cannot hunt for five years after pleading guilty to the careless use of a gun.

Court heard it was because both were caught by a conservation officer shooting down a road at a deer decoy.

The decoy was situated on a commonly used forestry road near Nestor Falls.

The incident happened in October of 2019.
