Overpass To Come Down In August

If you are wondering when the Marina Park pedestrian overpass is coming down, it will be next month.

The city tells us the crane is expected to move it into a nearby parking lot after the Civic Long Weekend, but that could be delayed if CN rail has not given its approval.

That approval is needed to pick a time when the tracks will be free of any trains going through.

CP rail has given its blessing.

City council approved the rebuilding of the overpass, at a price tag of $1.3-million dollars, to Tom Jones Corporation, a local firm.
