It’s taken almost 46 years, but we finally get to hear a collaboration between The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page along with the late Blind Faith bass player Rick Grech
Scarlet was recorded in October of 1974. The teaming took place in Ronnie Wood’s basement studio. Keith Richards says, “We walked in at the end of a Zeppelin session. They were just leaving, and we were booked in next and I believe that Jimmy decided to stay. We weren’t actually cutting it as a track, it was basically for a demo, a demonstration, you know, just to get the feel of it, but it came out well, with a line up like that, you know, we better use it.”
So, use it they will! Scarlet will be included when The Stones re-release their 1973 album Goats Head Soup. You can catch the updated album, including two more unreleased tracks in addition to Scarlet, on September 4th, and you can check out The Stones, Jimmy, and Rick’s tune below!
