NDP Want Review Of How Pandemic Handled

The NDP wants an independent review of how Ontario has fared so far in the pandemic.

Thunder Bay-Atikokan MPP Judith Monteith-Farrell stresses it just makes sense to see where we can improve in case we see a second wave of the virus.

“Hopefully with people taking a lot of precautions maybe we won’t have that second wave but I think we need to be prepared. Pretending it is not going to happen is not the way to go,” Monteith-Farrell says.

The provincial NDP wants an assessment of Ontario’s readiness for the second wave, and a plan to address gaps and shortfalls quickly.

“It is too easy to pat yourself on the back maybe a bit too soon. I think the government did a good job and worked towards doing the best they could but there are lessons to be had,” Monteith-Farrell adds.
