A 67-year-old man from Red Lake is dead after police suspect he was mauled by a black bear.
On Monday morning, the man went blueberry picking just off Highway 105 between Ear Falls and Red Lake.
The man was found by the OPP’s Emergency Response Team, but he was already dead.
A black bear was located in the vicinity and was shot and killed by officers.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has been contacted and will be sending the
bear to Guelph for testing.
