Impaired driving charges have been laid after a serious collision.
Thunder Bay police tell us they were called to Dawson Road near Dog Lake Road Saturday evening just after 6 o’clock.
They say an SUV, driven by a 25-year old Thunder Bay man, crossed the centre line and collided head on with a minivan, carrying five people.
Police point out everyone in the minivan was hurt, with the driver taken to Winnipeg for possible life-threatening injuries. Police haven’t told us where the people in the minivan are from or who they are.
The driver of the SUV is facing six charges, three for Impaired Driving Causing Bodily Harm, and three for Dangerous Driving Causing Bodily Harm. However, police say more charges could be coming. Police didn’t give the condition of the accused driver.
The road was closed for part of the evening.
