City Staff Redeployed To Long Term Care Home

Some city employees who would have been working on summer programming but haven’t been able to due to COVID-19 have been redeployed to the City’s long term care home, Pioneer Ridge.

City Manager Norm Gale told Acadia Broadcasting’s John Ongaro they are helping the professional old age home staff.

“Without them we are not able to meet provincial guidelines and regulations amidst COVID-19 or to provide quality support and compassionate care to the 150 people living at Pioneer Ridge,” Gale said.

Gale said these redeployed employees are helping out and doing important work that isn’t their normal day-to-day job.

The City Manager says before the staff were redeployed they provided them with proper training and personal protective equipment.
