Over 400 shoppers have supported the Country Market on its first day open amid COVID-19, far beyond expectations for its President.
By closing time, most vendors had almost sold out, with Kelly Fettes adding it was all food stands.
“Artisans are not available to open up just yet. So, we did a call out to all our vendors, in the category of grocery, and I believe we have about 20 here today,” says Fettes.
Two did sell out, with the market president adding normally there are about 80 groups with food, clothing or a variety of products to sell. There was plenty of planning to ensure all health regulations were kept, maintaining physical distancing as people kept walking through.
“I think we hoped we might see about 150, and we were going to call it a good day,” recalls a very pleased market president.
She adds a health inspector came through, who was very impressed.
