I was finding myself really itching to get out of the house this past week, so on Wednesday I decided to do a little tie-dying while it was super sunny and in the twenties! Here’s the results of my tie-dying escapade! I’ve attached a list of supplies, so you can try your hand at it if you’ve looking for something fun to do in the sun!
Hope you have some fun with this!!
Supplies:
- Tie-dye kit from your favourite craft store OR you can use food colouring but it won’t be as bright!
- Elastics of different sizes
- Bleach (with the help of an adult/parent)
- Black/White Shirts/Sweaters/Pants you want to use
- Gloves
Instructions:
- Wrap elastics about two inches apart on your garment
- Twist garment in a spiral or in a fun way to get a unique pattern you like
(BE SURE TO DO THE NEXT STEPS ON A CONCRETE PATIO OR IN AN AREA YOU CAN CLEAN UP DYE OR BLEACH)
- Set garment on your workspace and choose the colours you want to use
- Pour dye OR bleach on garment to create unique pattern
- Wait for dye/bleach to soak into garment and then hang to dry
- Once garment is dry, Rinse in cold water and then wash separately from other clothes
