As COVID-19 conditions ease in our community, the Regional Health Sciences Centre is going to start bringing back non-essential surgeries on Monday.
March, April and May saw elective surgeries postponed due to the pandemic.
COVID-19 lead, Dr. Stewart Kennedy says if they see an increase in coronavirus positive patients they will be able to quickly respond and reduce those non-essential services again.
If you had a procedure postponed, the hospital says your doctor will be reaching out to you to reschedule.
Lake of the Woods Hospital CEO Ray Racette says they’ve been told the Thunder Bay regional hospital will be starting off slow bringing back elective surgeries.
