COVID-19 Causes Changes To Bridal Shopping

Unveiled Bridal Boutique is the latest business trying to navigate the choppy waters of operating during a pandemic.

Owner Shelby Ch’ng tells us they started offering spaced out, private appointments this week.

“We have had to limit the number of appointments so we can clean in between. We’ve also had to number the amount of people who can come to an appointment,” Ch’ng said.

Ch’ng notes guests will also have to wear a mask during their appointment. The bride can only bring two people with her to the store for her appointment, whereas before many people would be in the bride’s entourage.

The owner of Unveiled Bridal Boutique notes she has heard from some studies that COVID-19 could live on material for up to 24 hours and that is why they are no longer allowed to use cloth curtains in their fitting rooms.

“We are hoping to space out the days between appointments, and space out the appointments so that we can give dresses time to dry out a little bit,” Ch’ng said.
