With the Finlandia Association selling off its assets, a fundraiser is trying to keep the Hoito afloat.
The Finnish organization announced last week it is entering into liquidation to pay off $1-million in debts.
The GoFundMe page was set up on Friday and has raised more than $2,200 out of its $25,000 goal.
The restaurant has been in operation for over a century, and organizer Lyndsay Williams says the Hoito can “never be replaced” if it is forced to close.
