A 32-year-old man is charged with assault with a weapon following a police investigation last night.
Police say a Trillium Place resident had a violent encounter with an intoxicated man just before 7:00 p.m.
They say a man known to the resident, attempted to push his way into the home after being refused entry. The accused man allegedly pulled out a pipe and began threatening the victim. The victim was able to push back and disarm the intruder who then fled the scene.
The victim sustained minor injuries. The accused has been released for a future court date.
