Drug Charges Laid After Traffic Stop

Three people from the Toronto area, including another of no-fixed address, are facing drug related charges after a traffic stop south of Wawa.

Provincial police say they pulled over a speeding SUV yesterday afternoon, and noticed the smell of cannabis. That resulted in a search which turned up over a kilogram of suspected cocaine and a smaller amount of suspected fentanyl.

Once the suspects realized they were under arrest, police say two of them ran into a wooded area, but were caught a short time later.

The four, ranging in age from 20 to 28 years, remain in custody on a number of drug trafficking charges.
