State Of Emergency Expected To Be Extended

Ontario’s State of Emergency is expected to be extended Tuesday at Queen’s Park.

Premier Doug Ford says we haven’t seen enough positive COVID-19 reporting to do away with the emergency just yet.

“Well, until we see a consistent flow of about two weeks, we’ve seen some good numbers, but we need to see that for two weeks. So, yes, we will need to extend the State of Emergency. Once we get through this then we can take it off the table,” Ford said.

It will be a little bit different at Queen’s Park on Tuesday when MPPs return to work as they can expect officials to check their temperatures and ask them if they are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms before they can gain entry.

On the list of unknowns, the Ford government is also expected to make an announcement next week about when kids will be able to return to daycare and schools.

Ford also discussed when people can expect to stop physical distancing measures and resume visits with their parents and other loved ones.
The Premier is asking for patience as he suggests you stick to only seeing those people who are already living in your household.
