Relief On Hydro Rates Will Continue

The provincial government has extended its emergency electricity rate relief program to the end of the month.

Customers who pay time-of-use electricity rates will continue to be billed the lowest price, known as the off-peak price, for another 24 days. It applies to all individuals, families, small businesses and farms; 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Premier Doug Ford says many people are struggling to pay the bills by doing the right thing and staying at home. He adds the extension of the electricity rate relief will leave more money in people’s pockets until businesses can start to reopen and people can get back to work.
