The victim of the city’s fifth murder of 2020 was 14 years old.
Police say the body of Kayleigh Ivall of Thunder Bay, was located in the area of Arundel Street near Lyon Boulevard on Monday afternoon after being discovered by someone passing by.
They say the teenager was last seen on Sunday evening around 8 o’clock in the area of Claude Garton school.
The police Criminal Investigation Branch, including investigators from the Major Crimes and Forensic Identification Units, have since been investigating the circumstances surrounding their death.
Police continue to guard the murder scene.
