DSSAB Gets COVID-19 Relief Funding

Over $584,000 will help those in need in the Thunder Bay district.

The Social Service Administration Board is getting the money as part of a provincial fund to address and prevent homelessness during the COVID-19 crisis.

It can be used for things like housing allowances, transportation costs, food and supplies, and community outreach to support seniors in self-isolation.

The Social Service office has also secured up to 170 hotel rooms for social distancing and isolation purposes if necessary.

The DSSAB is also eligible for over $1.1-million through the fund next year.
