MOH: Too Soon To Speculate On COVID-19 Cases

Just how Ontario is doing in the COVID-19 pandemic is a bit of a moving target according to the province’s top doctor.
Medical Officer of Health, Dr. David Williams says it’s too soon to say if we are making headway with most of our international travellers already home.
“In the future, you have to say if the borders are closed, we should have very little related to travel, but case contact and other sources, so we are looking at that to see if our travel-related cases have plateaued, I’d like to think so, but let’s stay tuned,” Williams said.
Williams suggests with increased testing and other factors coming into play they continue to closely monitor the daily number of confirmed cases.
The Medical Officer of Health suggests they are studying when they may be able to roll back some of their physical distancing rules, but notes if they do it too soon the virus may escalate quickly in the province again.
