MOH Continues To Keep Residents In The Know

Ontario is seeing an increase in their cases of COVID-19, but that’s not a reason for worry according to the Medical Officer of Health.

Dr. David Williams says the test results they are getting now reflect the viruses spread two weeks ago.

“When we are looking at these numbers and people are asking what does it mean, where are we at? If you take that our numbers are higher than last week but we have said these numbers reflect what has happened almost two weeks ago,” Williams said.

The Medical Officer of Health notes two weeks ago we closed our schools, we saw vacationers return to Canada and we started taking actions to close down non-essential businesses.

Williams urges residents to stay the course and keep up good hygiene and physical distancing practices.

The Medical Officer of Health says he will continue to keep the province updated on the situation and if need be the emergency state order will be continued past April 13th.
