City Council is being asked to scrap the daily fixed charges on area business bills to help give some financial relief to businesses that have been impacted by COVID-19.
President Charla Robinson tells Acadia Broadcasting’s John Ongaro these bills are having a major impact on them.
“Because they do use a lot of water, their daily charge is a lot higher than businesses who use a low amount of water. If your business is seeing a ninety percent drop-in clients than that’s going to be something that’s going to be a real challenge for those businesses to pay,” Robinson explained.
The Chamber president says they’ve been in contact with councillors and they seem open to hearing their ideas on how to better the business community.
