More St. Joseph’s Care Group staff will switch to long-term care homes and inpatient care because of COVID-19.
They are reassigning staff who are not providing direct care to patients, including those who delivered non-urgent outpatient programs.
Those programs are being cancelled for now because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Programs considered urgent will go on, but in smaller groups to promote social distancing or over video-conference or telephone.
St. Joseph’s Care Group officials say they don’t expect this to have any long-term effect on other areas like primary care and the emergency department.
